They’ll never sell me on Johnny Depp as Tonto, but Armie Hammer makes a dang fine John Reid in Disney’s The Lone Ranger. At first, we weren’t sure we even needed a new Lone Ranger film. Then we realized we felt the same way about Pirates of the Caribbean a few years back, and producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski proved what they could do together with that one. As long as there aren’t undead zombie monkeys and overly convoluted sequels, we’ll go along with The Lone Ranger for now.
