Do you know why Batman will never stop being Batman? Because movies and television won’t let Bruce Wayne forget why he dresses up nightly (knightly?) in tights and beats up clowns.

And apparently no iteration of Batman is complete without a scene of Thomas and Martha Wayne being gunned down in Crime Alley [ed note. – When walking downtown late at night, stay away from places named “Crime” anything]. Only Batman ’66 spared us from this tragedy. We supposed a cartoony “BANG!” effect popping up on the screen would have been a little tacky.
